Since Digicon is located in a city approximately four-hours driving time from our site, most service calls are handled by telephone and modem. Usually, the problems are pinpointed quickly and rectified in minutes. Recently, however, our building was hit by several power bumps caused by nearby lightning strikes during a storm. One bump, at approximately 5:30p.m. in the middle of a regular work week, caused a problem with our main controller. It shut down ventilation to nine floors occupied by roughly 750 to 800 office staff and rendered communication with the entire automation system impossible. Although no one was in the office when I placed a call to Digicon, their automated answering system recorded my message and paged a technician immediately. The technician called back within minutes and began troubleshooting. He was unable to correct the problem by modem, so he rounded up a spare board, power supply, and other items and headed for Saint John, despite the poor weather conditions. By 7:00a.m. he was on site and everything was up and running normally by 10:00 a.m.
This is the kind of service we have come to expect from Digicon. We may have one of the older systems they maintain, but we still get top-notch service.
